Racer by Katy Evans

If you are an original fan of Remy like I am, this book will speak to you just as the original Tate did. I made the mistake of starting and telling myself I would read only one chapter. Oh how I lied. I read this book start to end in one sitting. I couldn’t turn away from Racer and Lana. You won’t be able to either.

Welcome to the world of F1 racing. Where not only the cars are fast, but so are the emotions and the people wielding them. I swear Racer and Lana went from 1 -250 mph in 5 pages and it was the most exhilarating thing I have read in a long time. Not only was is a lightning fall, but it was the most excruciating slow burn I’ve also felt in a long while. What do you expect? It IS a Katy Evans novel after all.

This author writes a different breed of man and if you liked any of her other books, you will LOVE this one. I hope we get more for this generation of Tates. I sure will line up for a copy!

Synopsis:

A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.

I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.

He’s the fastest, fiercest driver around.

Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep…
but his smile sends me to my knees.

The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He’s secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss….

This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I’m supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. But it’s an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation…or your curse.

He says he wants me. He says I’m the One. But he also thinks he’ll break my heart, one piece at a time until it’s gone.

According to this synopsis Racer is a broken young man. Broken young men don’t come from strong familys. Reading this synopsis makes me think too bad his family wasn’t there for him growing up.

I disliked how Evans turned Remy-I-will-win-this-fight-for-my-girl into a patsy who in his last fight was more then OK with loosing. I don’t think I like how they raised their son any better.

Oh well, thanks for your review. It did help

Thanks for reading! I wouldn’t say he is broken per say, I would more classify Racer as a man who doubts his value and has demons to fight. You definitely get a different view of Remy in this and I truly loved it, but we each interpret book different, that is the beauty of reading. I am sorry you didn’t enjoy the series though. Hopefully one of the other books I have read speaks to you 🙂

The thing is I loved Remy until Katy dropped the ball and instead of going out with a bang- for his girl he ended with a whimper.wayyy too OK with a loss. And we didnt even get to see Melanie there for the last fight whos hubby owned the venue. Evans managed to ruin the entire series for me.
Ive noticed that when authors write a series they start with extra macho man, really tough, just the way we like it. And then with the next book with new main lead the guy has to be even tougher then the last. And in the next one tougher then the last. Until 10 or more books in the first main lead looks like a p…y in that world author created. Christine Feehan and carpathians is a prime example.
And thats what Katy did only she had two characters. She could have easily allowed Remy to go out as a champ and let the new lead take leadership role from that on.
